Preventative medicine is extremely important - As they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Regular wellness exams and annual screening lab work for all patients are key for preventative medicine. Oral health is also important and Dr. Rapp loves dental work, known as COHAT procedures (Complete Oral Health Assessment and Treatment). He is also passionate about dermatology and understands how frustrating it is for an animal to be itchy or lose its fur.
In addition to COHAT procedures, Dr. Rapp performs surgical procedures including but not limited to: lump removal, spay, neuter, C-section, ovariectomy, vasectomy, gastropexy, abdominal biopsy procurement, gastrotomy/enterotomy, cystotomy, and limb amputation.
Dr. Rapp likes both dogs and cats, but is a cat-lover at heart. He loves challenging cases with geriatric cats that have multiple issues. He currently lives in Columbia with his wife Gwen and their 4 cats: Ivy (11 years old), Claire (5 years old), Floyd (4 years old), and Juniper (6 years old).
Dr. Rapp is a member of the AVMA, MDVMA, Feline VMA, and American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. He became a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Medical Honor Society in 2017. He is a USDA APHIS Accredited Veterinarian and can write domestic and international health certificates for dogs and cats. He is currently working on ABVP certification in Feline Practice.
